Morphometric deterministic model for prediction of sediment yield index for selected watersheds in upper Narmada Basin

Abstract Soil erosion is common and has a wide range of spatiotemporal variability. It crucial in determining sediment output, which essential for proper watershed management. In this research, we propose morphometric deterministic models (MDM) prediction yield index using parameters 49 watersheds from Upper Narmada Basin Madhya Pradesh state, India. For purpose, Shuttle Radar Topography Mission generated Digital Elevation Model was used to extract analyze 12 including linear, aerial, relief parameters. Principle Component Analysis been applied the most effective parameter estimation. The linear nonlinear MDM were discovered be suitable field research due high value R 2 (over 70%). forecasting critical taking appropriate management measures reduce load reservoir extend life structure.
